This Lenten season, we will study the seven last words of Jesus, which the gospel writers record during Jesus’ passion. The statements may be brief but the more we read them the more they become instructive for us. They show us the heart of Jesus, even during the worst of human suffering. As we study these texts together, we will allow Jesus to draw us near to the cross so that we can hear from him as well.
